Crewe faces Huddersfield in the first home match in the month of September. The visitors have so far collected maximum points and we will be looking to put a dent in their unbeaten record.

Vital Quotes:

Both teams have been dumped out of the League Cup and the JPT at the first hurdle so will be looking to concentrate on their form in League One. Like Crewe, Huddersfield fans will expect their team to be involved in the promotion shake up come the end of this season.

Huddersfield are in 4th position and have suffered one defeat, a 2-0 reversal against Carlisle United in their last home match. It should be an intriguing encounter and one that both will set out to win.

Crewe Alexandra Team News:

Ben Williams, Neil Cox and Gary Roberts will all return to the starting line up after missing the JPT defeat at Chester. Byron Moore and Chris McCready are fit again after recovering from injury. Nicky Maynard (broken leg) is definitely out whilst Danny Woodards is rated 50/50 after suffering injury in the defeat at Chester.

Likely Team: Williams, Jones, Woodards, Baudet, O`Donnell, Schumacher, Cox, Roberts, Lowe, Barnard, Miller

Player to watch: Lee Barnard

Barnard will make his long awaited debut for Crewe. The Tottenham youngster has fully recovered from the injury that he had when he signed on the dotted line before last week transfer deadline.

He has completed a week and half of training and has suffered no adverse reaction so will lead the line against the Terriers. Hopefully he can provide some well needed goals which have been in short supply from our strikers.

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Danny Cadmarteri and Frank Sinclair (both hamstring) won`t be risked, neither will Robbie Williams (shin). Loan Signing Richard Keogh and Michael Collins will also be missing as they are on international duty.

Player to watch: Malvin Kamara

A summer signing from our local rivals Port Vale. He is a tricky winger and is one who the Crewe defence will have to keep an eye on. He has already scored one goal this season in the 2-1 win at Millwall.

We (Rotherham) had Swarbrick at Stockport a fortnight back….good luck with him…he’s not the best ref in the land.
