Crewe Alexandra youngsters Matus Holicek, Connor O’Riordan and Calum Agius have all made international appearances for their national teams during the last couple of weeks.
Midfielder Holicek added to the 3 caps he had previously gotten at Under-18 level for Slovakia by playing the full game in their 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic on 6th June before playing the full game against the same opposition 3 days later (both links in Slovakian).
Fellow midfielder Agius played the first 45 mins for Wales’ Under-19s in their 1-0 defeat against Sweden on Thursday 15th June before playing the final 26 mins in their 2-2 draw against the same opposition 3 days later.
Defender O’Riordan was an unused sub for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s in their 2-2 draw in Ukraine on Friday before playing the full game in their game against Kuwait’s Under-22s that was abandoned in the second half with the Irish leading 3-0, his first cap at this level.
