Crewe Alexandra have announced that right-footed forward Shilow Tracey has joined the club on a 2-year deal. He is the third signing of the summer after the arrival of goalkeeper Harvey Davies on loan from Liverpool and right-back Ryan Cooney, who joined on Friday after he left Morecambe earlier this summer.
Tracey, 25, started his career with Ebbsfleet United before joining Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee in 2016. He would play for Spurs in the EFL Trophy in the 2017-18 to 2019-20 seasons, spending time on loan at Macclesfield Town, Shrewsbury Town (and would score a hat-trick against the Alex in the Trophy) and Cambridge United before joining the latter on a permanent deal in the summer of 2021.
Here’s what Owen Mizon, who has answered questions in the past for our match previews, has to say about our new signing:
The Railwaymen have got themselves an exciting player in Shilow Tracey. The former U is frighteningly quick, which in itself was a handy asset during his 90 appearances, and skilful on the ball – utilise that and uncover a clinical edge and it’s a coup for League Two. #CamUTD https://t.co/oocK3xTG7g
