Davies Becomes First Summer Signing

|

Crewe Alexandra have announced that Liverpool goalkeeper Harvey Davies has joined the club on a season-long loan, becoming the first signing of the summer, to battle with Dave Richards and Tom Booth (who signed a contract extension yesterday) for the goalkeeping position.

Davies, 19, has come through the academy set-up at his hometown club and has made the senior team’s bench in the UEFA Champions League while appearing for the club in Premier League 2, the EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League over the past couple of seasons.

He is also an England youth international who has made an appearance at Under-19 level (where he was part of the team that won the European Under-19’s Championship in Slovakia last year as an understudy to Brentford’s Matthew Cox and Chelsea’s Teddy Sharman-Lowe) before making 2 appearances at Under-20 level, playing against Chile in a friendly last September before playing in a win against Germany in March.
