Still To Decide On Roberts

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has hinted that there still may be a chance of Gary Roberts returning on loan. The 23 year old winger spent three weeks on loan at Gresty Road in February before his spell was cut short through injury.

It was that injury that prevented Steve Holland extending his loan immediately and lead to Ipswich having second thoughts over sending Roberts back on loan.

Having recovered from the achilles injury Roberts returned to action this week with a goal for Ipswich Town’s reserves. Steve Holland has already admitted that the chances of Roberts returning are slim, knowing Magilton’s reluctance on this issue.

However, the Blues manager seemed a bit open minded on the issue when pressed yesterday. Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Magilton said he’ll review the issue after the weekend.

”We will see how things pan out on Saturday and decide after the weekend.”

The Alex will know for sure before next weekend’s game at Luton Town as the loan window prepares to shut on Thursday evening.
