Aberdeen left-back Dan Smith must wait for his chance to impress Crewe after a reserve game at Wolves was postponed today. The 20-year old has failed to establish himself north of the border since making the move from Sunderland in August 2006 having impressed whilst on tour in America.

However, despite signing a three-year deal, Smith is already looking to move on having played just 218 minutes of football this season. The 5’10 full back was subject to controversy in May 2006, following a poor challenge on Arsenal’s Abou Diaby which left the Gunner with a broken ankle. Smith has previously spent 2 loan spells with Huddersfield.
