Single Goal Sees Millwall Defeat Alex In Under-23s Action

|

Defender Daniel Moss’ goal 12 minutes from time saw Millwall defeat Crewe Alexandra in the Under-23 Professional Development League this afternoon.

With the first-team in action tonight in the EFL Trophy, manager Alex Morris was forced to name a younger side than normal but it was not made public.

The opening chance of the game came in the 15th minute with Alex Mitchell heading over from a Sean O’Brien corner before Moss would have an effort 10 minutes before the break that just went over.

Moss would have a header that was cleared off the line in the 77th minute before substitute Abdul Abdulmalik’s cross was finished by Moss a minute later. Abdulmalik would hit the post with 7 minutes to play after a 1-2 with fellow substitute Nana Boateng as the Alex struggled in the capital.

The next scheduled games at this level see a home game against Hull City at the Alexandra Stadium on the 22nd (1:00 pm) before a trip to Sheffield United on the 30th (7:00 pm).

Crewe: Team not made public

Millwall: Sandford, Moss, Topalloj (Abdulmalik 63), Strachan, A. Mitchell, Muller, Skeffington, B. Mitchell, Alexander, O’Brien, Davis (Boateng 73)
