Looking at the visitors, so far this season they have 13 victories, 7 draws and 9 losses in the league as they sit in 7th place in the league. In the league, they have beaten Port Vale twice, us, Cheltenham Town, Cambridge United, Yeovil Town, Crawley Town, Morecambe, Lincoln City, Swindon Town, Forest Green Rovers, Macclesfield Town and MK Dons, they have drawn against Notts County twice, Mansfield Town, Tranmere Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Exeter City and Morecambe while they have lost to Northampton Town, Bury, Stevenage twice, Grimsby Town, Newport County, Carlisle United, Crawley and Mansfield.

Looking back in the archives, the two teams have met 57 times with Colchester leading the head-to-head with 29 wins to 20 with 8 draws. Colchester’s biggest win came earlier this season with the 6-0 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium whilst the Alex’s biggest win came in April 1993 with a 7-1 victory at the Alexandra Stadium. Last season saw both home teams win, the U’s winning 3-1 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium whilst Crewe won 1-0 at the Alexandra Stadium.

Who are the officials for the game?

The officials for this game see Peter Wright as the man in the middle where he is assisted by Ian Dudley and Graeme Fyvie with Chris Sarginson being the fourth official. Here is the Crewe game that has been refereed by Wright in the previous 5 years:

  • Crewe Alexandra 2-0 Grimsby Town (27th October 2018) – Whelan, Miller

I asked Colchester United supporter Simon Collison for his thoughts going into the game.

How do feel that your season has gone since we last played?

The season has been very up and down. Just when I think we have cracked it, we throw points away. On our day we can beat the best in the league. But other results have shown we can be caught out…

What do you think the team will be for tomorrow’s game?

Gilmartin
Kent Prosser Eastman
Jackson Pell Lapslie Szmodics Dickenson
Nouble Mandron

Is Senior the danger man for this game or is there someone else that we should look out for?

Senior is still one to watch, but sometimes does have his quiet games. Others to watch are Tom Lapslie, the workhorse of midfield, Sammie Szmodics and Harry Pell.

Any changes in where you will finish (previously said that you would finish in the play-offs) or to who you think will be promoted and relegated?

I think we will finish in the playoffs now. Still hoping we can get into the top three, but will take a turn up in fortune and need more constancy to improve to achieve that.

Top Three: Lincoln Bury MK Dons
Playoffs: Colchester
Relegated: Macclesfield Notts County
