This season sees the Red Dragons sitting in 3rd place having beaten Walsall, Tranmere Rovers, Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town twice, Crawley Town twice, Salford City, Sutton United twice, Notts County twice, Gillingham, Morecambe twice, Colchester United twice, Newport County, Swindon Town, Barrow, AFC Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley, Mansfield Town and Forest Green Rovers, they have drawn against AFC Wimbledon, Swindon, Barrow, us, Mansfield, Bradford City, Harrogate Town twice, MK Dons and Forest Green, while they have lost against MK Dons, Stockport County, Accrington, Walsall, Newport, Salford, Gillingham, Tranmere and Doncaster.

They lost to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup 4th Round (knocking out Mansfield, Yeovil Town and Shrewsbury Town in the process) while they lost against Bradford City in the Carabao Cup Round 2 (having beaten Wigan Athletic, both on penalties). Mickey Demetriou gave the Alex a 24th-minute lead before Ryan Barnett was sent off for the hosts in the 36th minute. Paul Mullin levelled the score 5 minutes from the break before Chris Long had the visitors leading at the interval from the penalty spot. Mullin added his second 2 minutes after the break with Shilow Tracey giving the Alex a 65th-minute lead before substitute Steven Fletcher headed home an equaliser in stoppage-time as the points were shared.
