Ben Knight Joins On Loan

|

Crewe Alexandra have announced the signing of Manchester City youngster Ben Knight on a season-long loan, becoming the club’s seventh signing of the summer.

Knight, 19, was signed by City from Ipswich Town as a 16-year-old for £1m and has been involved for them both in the Premier League 2 for their Elite Development Squad as well as in the EFL Trophy (including being an unused sub in City’s 4-1 win at the Alexandra Stadium in the 18/19 group stage). He would make his first-team debut for City last week in the Community Shield in their 1-0 defeat against Leicester City, coming on as a 74th-minute substitute for Ferran Torres.

He is eligible to play in tomorrow night’s game at Oxford United tomorrow night and will wear the number 10 shirt during his loan spell with the club.

What are the Alex getting from this signing?

I asked Man City fan Harri Burton what type of player Knight is and this was his response:

He sounds like the perfect replacement to replace Charlie Kirk after his move to Charlton Athletic last week.
