Tomorrow evening sees the Alex travel to the Kassam Stadium to face Oxford United in our second away game in the league of the season.

Last Season:

They would finish 6th place in League 1 as they won 22, drawn 8 and lost 16 and lose 3-0 at home to Blackpool in the playoff semi-final first leg before drawing the second leg 3-3.

This season saw them draw 1-1 at Cambridge United on the opening day before beating Charlton Athletic 2-1 on Saturday, either side of a 4-2 penalties win at Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup to set up a trip to Queens Park Rangers next week.

Transfers:

Oxford have made 7 signings this summer, 4 permanent deals and 3 season-long loans, with defenders Steve Seddon and Jordan Thorniley (the latter on loan), midfielder Marcus McGuane and forwards Billy Bodin (who had a loan spell with the Alex during our 2011-12 promotion season), Ryan Williams, Nathan Holland and Gavin Whyte (the latter two on loan) joining the club.

They have allowed 9 players to leave on permanent deals.

Josh Ruffels gave the visitors the lead in the 36th minute before James Henry would double the lead 4 minutes later. Elliott Moore would add the third just before the break with Brandon Barker scoring within a couple of minutes of the break. Cameron Brannagan added the fifth on 50 minutes with substitute Sam Winnall completing the scoring in the 84th minute.
