Loanee Cedric Baseya could get one last chance to prove himself at Crewe on Saturday. The Southampton striker has failed to impress during his months loan at Gresty Road, and his loan is up after Saturday’s trip.
Assistant manager Neil Baker says that Baseya could start Saturday’s game against Hartlepool after some uninspiring performances from the likes of Simon Church, Shaun Miller and Ryan Lowe up front.
Baker told superalex.co.uk: ‘There’s a good chance we’ll play the big lad as Saturday will be his last game.
‘Simon Church needs a breather now and while, with a week’s rest, Nicky Maynard should go again, Shaun Miller didn’t do well enough when he came on [against Walsall] to stay in.’

What is it about Crewe and giving talentless sods so many chances? Are we a registered charity?
injured now, hernia/back problem but we are interested in extending his loan deal!
