Steve Jones, currently on loan from Burnley, has admitted he would like to finish his career back at Crewe.

In the short term Burnley boss Owen Coyle has assured Jones that he has a future at Turf Moor and has a year left on his contract in Lancashire, therefore he will return to The Clarets to play for his place next season.

Jonah has been plagued by injuries since his move to Burnley but thinks he still has a lot to offer.

Steve told thisisstaffordshire.co.uk: “I have another three years of football left in me, but you never know what is around the corner. He (Coyle) might have a rethink and bring his own players in.”

He added: “I’d still like to finish my career at Crewe as I started here if I can go on to 35 or 36, injury permitting.”

Jones has only started one game for Burnley this season and has only made two appearances for Crewe since his loan return, including a brief substitute appearance last weekend.
