Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has rejected speculation that his striker Jamie Guy is moving to Crewe.

Guy was thought to be the mystery striker Holland is desperately trying to sign, although speculation now seems to have moved to Tranmere’s Calvin Zola.

It was said that Guy was to make the move to Gresty Road subject to a deal being struck with Colchester but Colchester boss Geraint Williams says no offer has been made and Guy is firmly in his plans next season.

Williams told gazette-news.co.uk: ‘I would like Jamie to stay and he’s in my plans for next season. There are a lot of things a young man has to weigh up when considering his future. He has said to me that he feels he may need to move on but I disagree with that.

‘If a club was to come in with an offer that was acceptable – and Jamie wanted to go – then we would have to consider it.’

Crewe made an unsuccessful loan offer for Guy in January.
