Crewe will face hefty competition if they want to sign goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall. The highly rated Yeovil shot stopper is out of contract this summer and thought to be in talks with the Alex about taking the number one spot.

However, Mildenhall will be in no rush to sign as he weighs up his options. The 30 year old rejected Yeovil’s first offer of a new contract and is now courting interest from various other League One and Scottish clubs.

The former Grimsby and Notts County keeper has been lined up as a potential number one at the Alex after the departure of Ben Williams earlier in the month.
