George Abbey is named Vital Crewe Man Of The Match for his solid performance against Millwall.

The former Port Vale right back was made to fill in at centre back on his debut at the weekend due to injuries to Danny O’Donnell and Julien Baudet, and the Nigerian took to the task well.

Despite the severely weakened defence, Abbey helped the Alex look solid at the back, making sure there was no way through for Millwall, earning Crewe their second home clean sheet of the season.

Abbey impressed fans enough to earn 53% of the poll vote for the MOTM award.
