Bristol City manager Gary Johnson isn’t keen on letting Phil Jevons out on loan. Jevons was today linked with a move to Gresty Road after Neil Baker & Steve Holland went to watch City’s reserve match last night, in which Jevons scored a hat-trick.

Crewe have previously attempted to sign Jevons, and it looks like we could miss out again with Johnson playing down the rumours.

Johnson told BCFC.co.uk that he’s not interested in sending another player out on loan: ‘We’ve had lots of enquiries about players in our second first team, but that’s always the case, it’s natural.

‘We’ve already got five out on loan and I think that’s enough at this moment in time.’

Jevons looks like he could be a perfect signing for the Alex, who have found goals hard to come by this season. The Liverpool born striker scored 17 in League One last year for Bristol City, and scored 16 in this division for Yeovil the previous year.

This season he’s been left out of the Bristol City team, making just one start and not playing since August. However, five goals in two reserve games has improved his chances and he could soon find himself back in the fold at Ashton Gate.
