Crewe youngster Adam Dugdale has agreed to stay at the club on a non-contract basis. The defender has been at the club since joining the Academy as a schoolboy.

The Liverpudlian made his debut for the Alex last season in a St Johnstone’s Paint Trophy 2nd Round thriller at Rochdale, but it turned out to be his only appearance of the season.

After loan spells out at Accrington Stanley and Southport, Dugdale was released at the end of the season but both club and player have now back tracked to agree a non-contract deal.

Dugdale will hope to prove vital back up to the defence next season and earn himself a new contract.
