Suhaj Wants English Club

Slovakian Pavol Suhaj signed as one of many replacements for Dean Ashton in summer 2005. Despite having never seen him play Dario paid £90,000 for the striker, £90,000 we’ll never get back.

In his two years here, Suhaj proved beyond doubt he wasn’t up to the standard despite his loyalty and determination. Last summer he rejected a chance to leave the club and said he wanted to fight for a place in the team, he also turned down a loan move to Southport.

With his contract ending this summer there was no clinging on and Suhaj was, unsurprisingly, released. Suhaj now says he wants to stay and play in England but is finding it tough to find a new club.

He’s already rejected a move to Ireland and a offer from a second division Austrian club. Pav sees Ireland as a step back and prefers Cheshire to Austria.

Suhaj is still training at Reaseheath, but despite his want to stay in England he has yet to fix himself up with a trial – hoping Dario & Neil Baker will help him in that regard.

I don’t wish to be nasty towards “Pav” but he has to go down as one of the worst signings Dario has made, and maybe he should take that “step backwards” to play in Ireland because I can’t see too many English clubs being too keen.
