Draw Sees Alex Run To One Win In Five

|

A first-half goal from Rio Adebisi saw Crewe Alexandra get a point at home to AFC Wimbledon at the Alexandra Stadium yesterday.

Manager Lee Bell made 2 changes from last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at MK Dons with Lewis Leigh and Charlie Kirk coming in for Ryan Cooney and Aaron Rowe, who dropped down to the bench where they were joined by Chris Long after his latest injury.

The game’s opening chance and goal came in the 2nd minute as a left-sided from Jack Currie cross converted by John-Kymani Gordon from inside the 6-yard box before the Alex equalised 11 minutes later as a Leigh free-kick was played short to Adebisi who took a touch and smashed the ball into the top corner.

It took until 15 minutes to play for the next chance to come as an Adebisi inswinging corner was flicked on by stand-in skipper Mickey Demetriou at the near post with Conor Thomas heading over as both sides left with a point.

The next couple of games see the Alex travelling to Gillingham on Good Friday before hosting Forest Green Rovers on Easter Monday.

Final Thoughts:

It was another game that saw the Railwaymen get exactly what they deserved as neither team did enough to get the victory.

The goal against was a simple one that saw the right side of the defence pulled out of position with Demetriou having to come across to try to deal with the Dons player, only for the cross and goal to occur.
