A goal in each half from Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown gave Leeds United Under-23s a win over Crewe Alexandra at their Thorp Arch training ground this afternoon as the hosts now sit top of the table.
Manager Alex Morris would name Dave Richards in goal behind a back 4 of trialist Jonathan Barden, Luke Offord, Michael Raynes and Travis Johnson. The four in midfield were Oliver Finney, Tom Lowery, Joe Lynch and Regan Griffiths while Owen Dale partnered Shaun Miller up front.
The first goal came a minute before the break after a move that saw the hosts keep the ball for 45 seconds before Bryce Hosannah’s low cross was turned in at the back post by Brown before he doubled his and Leeds’ tally on 76 minutes as he got on the end of substitute Leif Davis’ pull-back
The next game for Morris’ men is against Bolton Wanderers in a fortnight at the Leyland County Ground with a 7 pm kick-off.
