Crewe have considered bring back former Captain Kenny Lunt on loan but nothing is imminent in the immediate future as the club look to give players already at the club a chance.

The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder has been listed for loan by the Championship club and Crewe along with League Rivals Walsall are believed to be tracking the 27 year old.

The management trio discussed his return but appear to have decided not to pursue a deal to bring Kenny home at the present time as they already have a plethora of midfielders at the club to choose from.

Assistant Manager Neil Baker told the Evening Sentinel: “We have discussed Kenny, and if it wasn’t for the midfield boys we’ve got here we might be tempted to do something,”

“Kenny is a good player, we know that, but we have got to balance that with what we’ve already got.”

That situation may change if the club suffer any injuries or if they can get a couple of fringe players out on loan. Fringe players such as Mark Carrington and Eugen Bopp could go out on loan and that could pave the way for the return of the midfield maestro.
