Crewe Alexandra have announced major changes to the coaching set up at Gresty Road, with Dario Gradi leaving the post as manager to become Football Technical Director.

The statement from the official website as follows:

‘With effect from 1st July 2007, Dario Gradi is appointed Crewe Alexandra Football Technical Director.

As such Dario will be responsible to the board for all the club’s football activities, including the first team.

Neil Baker will continue as Assistant Manager and continue his direction and management of the Club’s scouting activities, which have been strengthened by the appointment of Glyn Chamberlain.

At the same time, Steve Holland is appointed First Team Coach. He will play a pivotal role in the training, team selection and management of the first team playing squad.’

Not so much a resignation, just a realignment of a job.

More information as we get it.

Nice to know he’ll still be around though – as a Miller, I can’t imagine Crewe without Gradi – good luck to him
