Crewe Alexandra On This Day – April 19th

2003 – Crewe 0-1 Swindon Town:

The first game of this round-up came 17 years ago with Swindon Town making the trip north to the Alexandra Stadium and leaving with all 3 points thanks to Stefani Miglioranzi’s 75th-minute winner.

2008 – Crewe 3-1 Cheltenham Town:

Another team making the long trip north was Cheltenham 5 years later. Nicky Maynard opened the scoring for the Alex in the 14th minute with Steven Gillespie levelling the score just after the hour-mark. Maynard would add his second in the 68th minute before completing his hat-trick 8 minutes later.

2016 – Crewe 1-1 Colchester United:

Game 3 saw Colchester travel to the Alexandra Stadium. George Moncur opened the scoring for the visitors in the 65th minute from the penalty spot with Callum Saunders levelling in second-half stoppage-time. Future Alex striker Chris Porter played the full game for the Us.

2019 – Crewe 2-0 Yeovil Town:

The final game of the column took place last year with Yeovil Town the visitors. Charlie Kirk scored the opening goal of the game in the 4th minute with Tom Lowery getting his first for the senior team in the 65th minute.
