Ryan Lowe could make a return to former club Chester City after Chester manager Simon Davies hinted that he’d be interested in Lowe.

The 29 year old attacker was frozen out of the side towards the end of last season and spent the final weeks at Stockport, where he had an unsuccessful loan spell.

Steve Holland has told Lowey that whilst the club would like to keep him for the final year of his contract, he is not guaranteed much action on the pitch next season. It’s believed that Lowe will now take the option to move on.

Chester, his former club, had been linked with a move for the scouser but it wasn’t clarified till today. Manager Simon Davies admitted Lowe is the type of player he wants but wouldn’t be drawn on wether an offer would be made.

Simon Davies told the Ellesmereport Standard: ‘Ryan is a player who has proven his worth at this level,’

‘He is still in contract for another year so would command a fee, he has played higher up and there has been interest from other clubs. He obviously has real quality and is the calibre of player we want. Last time he played here he was a success and that creates the speculation.’

Lowe left Chester on a free in 2006 after a disagreement with then manager Mark Wright.
