The top dogs will meet on Thursday to discuss who will replace Steve Holland as manager of Crewe.

Chairman John Bowler has been gathering names of potential candidates for the past week and the club’s directors, including Dario Gradi, will now sift through the possibilities.

The meeting on Thursday could well provide further clues as to who exactly is in line for the top job. New names are cropping up all the time but it’s hard to escape the likes of Nigel Clough, Jim Gannon & Steve Cotterill at the moment, whilst former Cheltenham boss John Ward appears to be in the frame.

Hopefully this meeting will see some movement and by the time the FA Cup game comes round next week we’ll have some idea of who the job is being offered to.
