BBC Radio Stoke have reported that assistant manager Neil Baker has applied for the manager’s job at Port Vale.
Speculation has mounted since Martin Foyle got the sack a couple of weeks ago, and today’s news doesn’t come as any surprise.
Baker joined Crewe over 10 years ago and has been with the club, assisting Dario, in the club’s greatest ever period.
Baker, a Stoke fan, was offered the Academy Director’s job at Stoke City in the summer but turned it down to be part of the new management structure at Crewe.

interesting!
Wouldn’t be against him leaving. Would free up some finances. No need for three men in one job, or if Dario’s taking a further back seat then it’ll allow Holland to bring in his own man. Served us great and found some of our better players in his time. Good luck to him if he goes.
terry mcphillips is the one that holland wants as assistant! dario doesnt want him back!!!!!!
