Oliver Turton Joins Huddersfield

|

Huddersfield Town have announced the signing Alex Academy alumni full-back Oliver Turton on a 2-year deal with the option of a third year.

Turton, 28, started his career with the Alex (after a short loan spell at Market Drayton Town during his scholarship) where he made almost 200 appearances before moving to Bloomfield Road in the summer of 2017 and moves on again after 165 appearances for the Tangerines, including scoring an own goal in their play-off final victory on Sunday against Lincoln City. He has scored one goal in each of the last 8 seasons across both clubs.

What are they getting from the signing of Turton?

Turton is a right full-back who has also played in midfield for both the Alex and Blackpool as well as filling in at centre-back during this season with the Tangerines. It’s a little bit of a shock to me that he’s moving up to the Championship at a club that isn’t Blackpool.
