Danny Woodards looks good to play on Saturday despite limping off against MK Dons over the weekend. The right back took a blow to the ankle and was immediately taken off by Steve Holland, but thankfully it was only bruising that forced him off.

Woodards now looks set to continue at right back when Northampton visit Gresty Road on Saturday. If he fails to regain fitness then loanee Elliott Bennett will make his first start in a Crewe shirt.

The news comes as a relief for Alex fans after fearing the worst on Saturday. Woodards has debatebly been our best and most consistant performer this season at right back.

  • Dink. says:

Thought Bennett showed a lot of weaknesses against MK when he came on, wouldn’t be confident for him to play a whole match at right back, especially against higher quality. Woodards, meanwhile, will play in the Premiership one day in my opinion.

  • will it ever happen says:

Play in the premiership, is he that good?
