U21: Alex Defeated At Millwall

Goals from Kamarl Grant and Abdulmalik saw Crewe Alexandra’s Under-21s be defeated by Millwall this afternoon at Calmont Road.

Manager Michael Jackson named Travis Ziglam in goal behind a back 4 of Oliver Armstrong, Matthew Senior, Nathan Robinson and captain Zak Kempster-Down. In midfield were Pharrell Leader-Williams and Lewis Nolan while Jack Parry, Luca Moore and Jordan Hodkin started behind Mo Jatta up front. On the bench were Stan Dancey, Joe Collins, Ben Furlong, Callum Hardy and goalkeeper Mikolaj Lenarcik.

The opening goal was scored by the hosts on the half-hour as defender Grant headed in a corner with their second coming in the third minute of stoppage time through Abdulmalik’s effort from just outside the area.

The next couple of games at this level see the Alex have two games at the Alexandra Stadium across the next two Mondays, firstly Watford visit next week before Hull City are the visitors in a fortnight – both games kicking off at 1:00 pm.
