Tottenham Hotspur’s young midfielder Jake Livermore has signed a 6 month loan deal with the club.

The 18 year old spent 1 month at MK Dons last season in League Two where he made 5 substitute appearances. Last season he also made 12 appearances for the Spurs reserves, scoring twice.

The former South East Cross Country champion becomes the club’s second loan signing from the London club in as many seasons. Last year Lee Barnard spent six months at the club as Steve Holland builds links with Alex Inglethorpe, Spurs Academy Director and a friend of Holland’s. Of course, the links are further strengthened after Holland was offered the Academy job at Spurs two years ago.

Livermore, described as an ‘energetic midfielder’, spoke to the official site immediately after completing his move. Jake explained he’s just looking for some first team experience:

‘I think my main strengths are getting about the pitch, and I can also score some goals. Defensively, I’m pretty solid and I like to get the ball down and play as well. I think Crewe’s style will suit me.

‘I just want to get some league football under my belt and contribute for the club and help them get some results and cup runs.’
