Colwyn Bay midfielder Lassana Mendes is set for a 2-week trial with Crewe Alexandra during pre-season, the North Wales Pioneer reports.
Mendes, 26, is a versatile central midfielder who has played for Spanish second division clubs Cadiz and PV Ejido, arriving in England where he has played for both Radcliffe Borough and Stalybridge Celtic before moving to the Welsh club in September 2017.
What do you know about Mendes?
To be honest there’s not a great deal about him online but he was voted as Radcliffe’s Player of the Year during the 16/17 season (also filled in as captain during that season).
Without speaking to someone who has regularly seen him play, it’s hard to gauge whether or not he would be an option for the Alex going forward but I personally don’t see him as a player that would get into our first team next season if we were to sign him seeing as he’s only played in the 7th and 8th tiers of English football to date.
