Tranmere have completed the signing of Chris McCready on a one-year deal following a successful trial period. Following his release from Crewe, McCready had been linked with Chester, though nothing concrete emerged.

The 24-year old joins former teammate Gareth Taylor at Prenton Park and becomes Tranmere’s ninth signing of the summer. Moore cited McCready’s experience and versatility as the main reasons for signing the defender. Strangely, however, Moore also believed that McCready would provide some composure on the ball at the back, which is something he failed to show during his time at Gresty Road.
