Tomorrow afternoon, Crewe Alexandra host Doncaster Rovers at the Alexandra Stadium with former Alex loanee Jamie Sterry as part of their squad.

This Season:

This season sees the Rovers sitting in 19th place having beaten Forest Green Rovers, Gillingham, Crawley Town, Sutton United, Tranmere Rovers and Grimsby Town,  they have drawn with Mansfield Town and Swindon Town while they have lost against Harrogate Town, Newport County, Notts County, MK Dons, Wrexham, Barrow, Stockport County, Salford City and AFC Wimbledon.

They beat Accrington Stanley after extra time in the FA Cup 1st Round (to set up a date against Peterborough United next weekend) and would lose against Everton in the Carabao Cup 2nd Round following a win against Hull City in the previous round. In the EFL Trophy, they beat Everton’s Under-21s and Burton Albion either side of a defeat at Mansfield.

This summer has seen them make 9 permanent and 4 loan signings while 4 players have left the club permanently with Jack Degruchy, Charlie Seaman, Will Green and Deji Sotona leaving on loan deals.

Joining the ranks at the Doncaster Community Stadium are goalkeeper Ian Lawlor, defenders Owen Bailey, Jack Senior, Sterry and Richard Wood, midfielder George Broadbent with forwards Joe Ironside and Sotona completing the permanent signings. Defender Tom Nixon and forwards Tyler Roberts, Modou Faal and Louie Marsh have joined the club on loan.

Leaving the club permanently were Kieran Agard, Aidan Barlow, Jonathan Mitchell, Jak Whitling, Ro-Shaun Williams, Rory Watson and Reo Griffiths.
