Crewe Alexandra Ladies have gone out of the Women’s FA Cup against Coventry Sphinx despite Seren Redmond’s goal 3 minutes after the break at the Cumberland Arena yesterday afternoon.

Coventry would take the lead in the 15th minute before they doubled the lead 5 minutes before the break with the third coming 4 minutes later. Redmond converted from a Booth cross 3 minutes after the break before the visitors’ 3-goal lead was restored a minute later.

The first-team are back in action next Sunday afternoon with a home game against FC United of Manchester at the Cumberland Arena (kick-off at 2:00pm) before a trip to Merseyrail Ladies the following Sunday (game taking place at Admiral Park with the same kick-off time).

Crewe: Holloway, Nuttall (c), Evans, Parker, Sheridan, Cooper, Booth, Garner, Fallon, Lelis Ferrari, Redmond

It was better news for the Elite Development Squad this weekend with a 5-2 victory away from home at the Great Wyrley Academy.
