Some brilliant news tonight is that midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson will remain on loan from Reading till the end of the season. The news was announced prior to the game at MK, in which Siggy scored the equaliser.
The 19 year old has been instrumental in the Crewe midfield in recent games, earning the man of the match award for Saturday’s performance at home to Leeds.
It’s a great boost to our chances of avoiding relegation and comes just as fellow midfielder Steven Schumacher has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Schuey went off during Saturday’s match against Leeds with ligament damage and whilst it’s not as bad as first feared the former Everton man is almost certainly out till next season.
