Gudjon Does It Again!

You can never assume we’re down an out under Gudjon as tonight proved once again.

After 76 minutes we were battered and bruised by a decent MK Dons outfit. Two soft goals in the first half, one deflected off Broomes beyond Ruddy and the other a Ruddy mistake, gave MK the two goal advantage and it sounded like there was no way back.

In Gudjon we trust though and after the Iceman injected a bit more pace into the game through the substitutions of Moore and Miller things started looking brighter.

Mark Carrington’s header on the 78th looped over MK keeper Gueret giving the Alex hope, and hope it was, as just seconds later new signing Alan Sheehan was tumbled by Gueret to earn the Alex a penalty.

Man of the moment Gylfi Sigurdsson stepped up to stroke the ball home earning us what was probably an undeserved point from the game, but after Saturday aren’t we due it?

It could have been more with a late flurry of attacks from the proud Railwaymen but a point will do, and it turned from a disastrous night into a pretty damn good one!

We’ve moved up the 17th and four points away from Yeovil, who occupy the first relegation spot in 21st. The fact remains though that four of the bottom five have two games in hand over us and e sit in the middle of seven teams that are separated by just five points.

But we remain well inside the safety zone and everything else is IF’s and BUT’s.

Onwards and upwards!
