Gudjon was far from happy with his team’s 1-1 draw at Nantwich this afternoon, promising an extra training session tomorrow.

The poor showing from The Alex was a bit of a let down after Thursday’s win against Premier League Wigan. Whilst only a pre-season fixture, the lack of desire and commitment has forced Gudjon to take action with his squad.

Speaking to CreweAlex.net, the Iceman revealed that the team will now be facing a double training session tomorrow, insisting they’ll ‘make up’ for today’s performance.

‘I thought we were a bit off of the pace this afternoon and I wasn’t too pleased with the way we took ourselves forward.

‘If they do not show the required desire and commitment in the pre-season matches then they will make up for it in training. There will be a double training session tomorrow because there were not too many positives to take from this game.’

It was thanks to a Clayton Donaldson equaliser on the 14th minute that Crewe came away from The Weaver Stadium with a draw, and Donaldson’s goal proved to be one plus point for Gudjon.

‘He is continuing to improve and if he can get his goalscoring levels right then he could become a lethal player for us because he has all the attributes.’

Thordarson can now look towards the next pre-season fixture which takes place on Thursday 23rd July when we travel to Hyde United. Kick off will be at 7:30pm.
