Danny Woodards could yet remain at the club beyond this season with Gudjon Thordarson hoping for a decision from him by the end of the week.

Woodards has signalled his intention all season to see out the remainder of his contract, which expired in the summer. With the club rock bottom of the league and looking down and out there wasn’t much that could change Woody’s mind.

However, with a new successful manager in and a bright looking future we could see the former Exeter defender change his mind. Gudjon and chairman John Bowler are now set to try and get Woodards to commit his future to the club, hoping he’ll be major presence in the team next season.

There is still some thinking from Woodards though. He looks to have lost his natural position at right back to John Brayford for the rest of the time both remain at the club, staying would mean taking up a more permanent role in the centre of midfield.

It’s hoped it’ll all be sorted by the end of the week and we can only hope that Woodards pens a new deal!
