Adebisi Signs Extension To 2024

|

Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that full-back Rio Adebisi has signed an extension to his contract with his new deal is set to expire in the summer of 2024.

Adebisi, 21, has come through the club’s youth system before a short loan spell at Leek Town during his scholarship, making his first-team debut for the Alex against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup a couple of seasons ago, the first of his 36 appearances for the club with him playing as a full-back/wing-back on either side of the defence.

What does this mean?

Rio has established himself as the first-choice left-back ahead of the experienced Callum McFadzean and even at times ahead of Southampton loanee Kayne Ramsay as he’s also been used as a right-wing-back when we have moved to a back 5.

Obviously, there’s still a long way to go before he potentially moves into the Championship like former left-back Harry Pickering but as a relatively inexperienced player still, he’s made an alright start to his senior career.
