Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that Middlesbrough forward Stephen Walker has rejoined the club on loan for the rest of the season, the second player to do so in as many days following Billy Jones’ return on Thursday.
Walker, 20, is in his second loan spell with the club after he also joined in last January’s transfer window and has also spent a couple of spells on loan at MK Dons (where he spent the first half of this season).
He will be wearing the number 31 shirt during this spell.
Where will Walker fit into the Alex team?
It’ll be interesting which role he will play more minutes at, whether it’s as a central striker or in one of the wider positions of the front 3.
For me, I think that he will be rotated with Mika Mandron a little more as a central forward in games where having 3 quicker players in the front line would be better as well as be an option wide for when Owen Dale or Charlie Kirk need a rest as Daniel Powell has missed various games with injuries during the season.
