In this column, we’ll look at those former Alex players who have been on the move in the month of January.
On Wednesday 3rd, forward Malachi Linton joined National League South side Weymouth on loan from fellow NLS club Yeovil Town until the end of the season.
On Monday 8th, goalkeeper James Beadle joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion for the rest of the season after being recalled from his loan spell with Oxford United. James played 9 games for the Alex in the second half of last season.
On Thursday 11th, forward Billy Waters joined Doncaster Rovers on loan from fellow League 2 side Wrexham until the end of the season. Billy played 30 times for the Alex in all competitions across the 2013/14 and 14/15 seasons.
On Monday 15th, midfielder Eli King joined Ross County on loan from Cardiff City on loan for the rest of the season. Eli made 18 appearances in all competitions during a loan move last season.
On Wednesday 17th, forward Vadaine Oliver moved from Bradford City to fellow League 2 side Stevenage on loan for the rest of the season. Vadaine made 42 appearances for the Alex across the 2013/14 and 14/15 seasons.
On Wednesday 31st, midfielder Ryan Finnigan moved from Southampton to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee until the summer of 2026 with the club having an additional 12-month option. Finnigan made 16 appearances for the Alex in the second half of last season.
Transfer Deadline Day
Forward Owen Dale moved from Blackpool to Oxford United for an undisclosed fee. Owen made 109 appearances for the Alex between 2017 and 2022.
Fellow forward Harry McKirdy has re-joined Swindon Town on loan from Hibernian for the rest of the season. McKirdy made 16 appearances for the Alex during the second half of the 17/18 season in a loan spell.
Defender Kayne Ramsay moved from League 2 Harrogate Town to join Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee on a deal until the summer of 2027. Kayne made 19 appearances during a loan spell for the Alex in the second half of the 21/22 season.
