Crewe Alexandra have announced that defender Ed Turns has joined the club on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion while forward Charlie Kirk has returned to the club until the end of the season, becoming the third and fourth signings of the January transfer window.
Turns, 21, is a central defender who has come through Brighton’s academy and has spent a couple of spells on loan with Leyton Orient, getting promoted with the club out of League 2 last season (where he scored against the Alex in our home game) as champions – he has also represented Wales at Under-21 level.
Kirk, 26, is a wide player who came through the Academy set-up with the Alex, making over 200 appearances for the club in his first spell, again getting promoted out of League 2 back in the 2019/20 season, before joining Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2021. He spent time on loan at Blackpool and Burton Albion before leaving the Addicks before Xmas.
