Rumours linking rookie keeper Owain Fon Williams with a move to the Premiership resurface today. The 20 year old, who is yet to make an appearance for the Alex, is said to be interesting Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland in today’s Daily Mail. The Daily Mail also claim that Bolton Wanderers, Derby County and Swansea City are also interested.

It’s not the first time that Williams has been linked with a move to the Premiership, late last year papers printed a similar story. It was later dismissed by Alex assistant manager Neil Baker, who said Fon Williams would be better of being no.2 at the Alex than being 4th or 5th choice at a Premiership club.

It is however a debated topic amongst Alex fans as to why the Wales U-21 star has yet to be given a chance in the Alex first team after 3 seasons of of conceding a ludicrous amount of goals.

With Fon out of contract in the summer it seems increasingly more likely that he will be leaving Gresty Road this summer and it looks to be the management’s fault they are set to lose, possibly, the first quality ‘keeper produced by the club’s academy.

that time of year now isn’t it when the press tell us all which players we are going to lose!! I do like the rumours but usually only when it is a player incoming!
