The Owain Fon Williams saga continues with the young keeper insisting he’s not yet decided on the future.

The 21 year old, who has never made a first team appearance between the sticks at Gresty Road, has stalled on a new contract after reportedly receiving interest from the likes of Blackburn, Bolton and Sunderland.

Crewe Alexandra & Steve Holland have failed to keep contact with Williams since the season ended and have begun looking elsewhere for a new number one.

Williams though says that he’s not yet decided what he will do this summer; sign a contract with the Alex or move on.

Fon told The Sentinel: ‘They have offered a three-year deal, which is a decent length. At this stage of my career, it is a very important decision I have to make. But I’m not going to commit myself to anything.

‘I am not resigned to leaving. But it’s a bit down to trust. How can I believe them when they have said things and in the past they haven’t played me? I know Crewe are looking elsewhere, but that is their prerogative. I’ve got to think of myself because that is what they are doing.’

Steve Holland has already lost the services of number one Ben Williams, who looks set to sign for Bury soon, and was snubbed by former Gretna keeper Greg Fleming, who chose Oldham Athletic as his destination.

Holland is said to be in talks with other keepers, one said to be a experienced League One shot stopper.
