Billy Jones has been called up to the England U-21 squad. The right back left for Preston in the summer after letting his contract run out.

Jones has previously represented and captained England at every level up the the U-20’s and it’s thought one of his main reasons for leaving was to break into the U-21 squad.

Not long after leaving Gresty Road, Jones hit out at the club in the Lancashire press saying ‘it wasn’t a wrench to leave Crewe’ and that ‘you could play half pace at Crewe’.
