Bradford City are the latest club linked to Alex target Anthony Elding. The Yorkshire club are said to have enquired about their neighbour’s striker with the view of making an offer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Last week Carlisle were said to have submitted a bid, but manager John Ward has denied this. Ward told BBC Radio Cumbria: “We haven’t made an offer for Elding. I am still working hard to sign a couple of new players but it won’t be him.”

Steve Holland is still keen of bringing Elding to Gresty Road, still being in regular contact with the striker and his representative (former Crewe striker Lee Matthews).

Elding has previously turned down the Alex twice. In January he snubbed a move in preference to joining Leeds before turning the Alex down again earlier this summer when personal terms couldn’t be agreed.

Eyebrows would seriously be raised should Elding choose to drop a division to Bradford City over a move to the Alex.
