Dugdale: Crewe’s Future?

The management seem to think so. After last season playing a bit part role, not many could argue that Adam Dugdale is now one of the first names on the team sheet. Fans were sceptical when previous manager, Dario Gradi, brought back the academy graduate on trial following a stint in the none league.

Dugdale certainly impressed in his trial and was later offered a six-month deal. He started to make a claim for a place in the team after coming on as a sub against local rivals Port Vale, scoring late on to give Crewe all three points.

He finished last season in the team before making a starting role this season. Duggy impressed fans and management alike with a number of impressive, passionate performances.

After recently accepting a new two-year deal, fans will be hoping that Duggys next two years are just as successful. He is certainly favourite to take the captains armband next season should Dave Artell not get offered a new deal.

There appears to be a strong spine of the Alex team this season involving Phillips, Dugdale, Westwood and Powell. Long may that continue.
