After a fair few wins on the bounce Crewe`s luck seemed to of came to an end after Lee Bells ball-to-hand incident was deemed as being a handball by the referee.

Crewe seemed to be coasting to another victory after Byron Moore`s goal gave the railwaymen the lead up to the 88th minute. After the “handball”, Crawley`s Alexander gave Crawley a share of the spoils after calmly putting away the spot kick.

At 5 O`clock players and fans must have began to believe their play-off dreams could be starting to fade after Cheltenham`s result against Barnet was confirmed.

Luckily Crewe were helped out by Northampton, who despite being towards the bottom of the league, got the third goal of their game against Oxford to give Crewe a fine chance in the League two run in.

Crewe now sit just two points behind Oxford in seventh. With Crewe taking on Bristol Rovers on Monday and Oxford facing a tricky game against second placed Torquay, the Railwaymen have a chance of being in a play off place this time tomorrow.
