Gudjon Thordarson revealed there is ‘nothing in the pipeline’ regarding last minute transfers. The transfer window shuts at 5pm today across the country but for Thordarson his transfer windows deals have been completed.

Football League clubs will still be able to enter the loan market once that re-opens in a week’s time and it’ll be then when Gudjon will hope to add to his squad further.

Thordarson told crewealex.net that he enquired about a few more players but hit dead ends:

‘I did make a few enquiries but the ones that I wanted to bring in were not available and those that were available I didn’t want. We can still do some loan after the week’s dead period, so we will see how we go and maybe look at that again.

‘I am never disappointed with not being able to bring a particular player in, I’m too old for that and have been in this business a long time. The key to bringing in players is to sign quality. ‘

‘We will see, but it is not over and we may get to see some new faces once the window opens again.’

It was hoped that Thordarson would bring in extra midfield re-enforcements, but it looks like that is proving a hard task. With the weather how it is though Thordarson may well be able to add a player before another ball is kicked.

There has been no news yet on if tomorrow evening’s game at home to Yeovil is to go ahead.
